# Bridge / Fence-Line Discrepancy

Status: field observation / needs verification.

Kerry had a Memphis-library map showing prewar fence lines. Kerry reports finding rotted fence or barbed-wire remnants in the ground corresponding to the older map. The map may place the wartime bridge roughly 100 yards away from a later bridge interpretation.

## Research question

If the wartime bridge was not where later maps placed it, the geometry of the battle and retreat may need closer review.

## Evidence targets

- Memphis-library map citation or image.
- Later Shelby / interpretation map.
- Field photos if available.
- Non-public notes on findspots.
- Permission and access records for any field review.
