# Booth Legend Artifact Notes

This folder supports the Booth pillar within the public Guntown.us launch focus.

The archive posture is restrained:

- The official historical account is the counterweight.
- The Guntown material is treated as local lore, family tradition, and historical legend.
- Artifact claims are kept separate from proof claims.
- The site is independent and unofficial. It is not the official position of the Town of Guntown.

Current public source status:

- Official-history anchors: Ford's Theatre and National Park Service Ford's Theatre materials.
- Local-lore anchor: HottyToddy / Dick Gentry retelling from May 13, 2014.
- Original target source: 1995 Tupelo Daily Journal / Phyllis Harper interview with Emma Emily Epting Pressey.
- Original target source status: not located in public web search during this pass.

The public page may include the reported phrase about Jennie Booth Epting as the "little girl who helped carry food to JWB in his upstairs hiding place." It should remain attributed as reported local/family lore, not as Jennie's direct quote, unless a primary source is found.
